Who is Lizzie Rose?

Lizzie Rose is eighteen, a professional dancer, and a young woman whose life has never quite followed the script.

Dance has been her passion for as long as she can remember. It demands discipline, focus, and a willingness to keep going when everything hurts. But Lizzie is also curious, independent, and not particularly good at leaving unanswered questions alone.

That becomes a problem when the past begins making itself known.

What starts as an unsettling encounter draws Lizzie into a world of forgotten stories, unexplained happenings, and spirits who seem to have unfinished business. The deeper she goes, the more she discovers that some mysteries aren’t simply about finding out what happened. Sometimes, it’s about discovering why the past refuses to stay buried.

Some dances never truly end.

The Millbrook Haunting

Book One in the Lizzie Rose Paranormal Mysteries

When a rehearsal at the historic Millbrook Theatre comes to an impossible stop, dancer Lizzie Rose begins to notice unsettling signs: a sudden coldness onstage, music no one remembers choosing, and dancers moving through steps they never learned.

Her search leads to a devastating performance from the theatre’s past—and a former principal dancer whose final solo was never completed. As the unfinished music begins to echo through the Millbrook once more, Lizzie must uncover what happened before the past takes hold of the present.

Creepy: Atmospheric ghost story, unsettling sounds, cold spots, and a spirit with unfinished business. Not a slasher.

Graphic content: No gore or graphic violence. A death from long ago is described, never shown.

Witness in the Wings

Book Two in the Lizzie Rose Paranormal Mysteries

When the Millbrook Contemporary Dance Company travels to a grand Bavarian estate above an alpine lake, Lizzie expects rehearsals, difficult personalities, and the usual chaos of staging a show far from home.

Instead, she finds a presence waiting in the estate’s east wing—and a family determined to keep its century-old secrets buried. Caught between the urgency of the dead and danger closing in on the living, Lizzie must discover what the past refuses to let go.

Creepy: Atmospheric ghost story, unsettling supernatural visions, and a spirit with a tragic past. Expect suspense and dread, not slasher horror.

Graphic content: No gore or graphic violence. A past death is explored through supernatural visions, but is not graphically depicted.

Coda for the Bitten

Book Three in the Lizzie Rose Paranormal Mysteries

A new production with a mercurial international choreographer takes Lizzie and the Millbrook company to Puglia, Italy, where an ancient spirit has found its way into the music, the choreography, and Lizzie’s dreams.

As rehearsals spiral toward something far more dangerous than opening-night nerves, Lizzie is drawn inexorably toward a four-hundred-year-old secret—and a truth someone once killed to keep hidden.

Creepy: Atmospheric supernatural mystery, with ancient secrets, and a restless spirit with a tragic past. Expect suspense and dread, not slasher horror.

Graphic content: No gore or graphic violence. Some disturbing events from the past are recounted, but not graphically depicted.
